On Stage 3

The On Stage series comprises six volumes for harpists from first-year to advanced. Each volume contains approximately ten recital pieces that are beautiful, exciting, or moving enough to perform on stage. And a stage can be anything: a concert hall, but also at home with a sofa for stuffed animals, at Grandma’s house, in front of the classroom, or in front of the camera. Close your eyes and imagine your own Stage!
The songs in On Stage 3 range from a romantic pop ballad with variations to a virtuoso knight’s dance or a Halloween graphic score. The songs can be played from age 3 and up and are very suitable for performances or, for example, a B exam.
All of Sabien Canton’s compositions are characterized by her predilection for sound and color. This book also doesn’t shy away from special harp techniques like tapping, p.d.l.t., or nail glissandi. And the basic ingredient is, of course… Rhythm!
Each song has an elaborately arranged backing track, adding a touch of color to your performance—on or off stage. Four pieces from On Stage 3 have a play-along track, produced by Remko Kühne. These can be found on the Harpologie YouTube channel or downloaded for free from the website.
