Bagatellen
Commissioned by the Dutch Harp Association in 2015, I wrote the compulsory work for the Rosa Spier Harp Competition, category Folk Harp: Five Bagatelles.
The Bagatelles can be played on leverharp or concertharp and celebrates the wide range of harpsounds: Part 1 and 3 are inspired by contemporary music and graphic scores with some nice extend techniques. Part 2 and 4 remind a little of Einaudi like filmmusic. And Part 5 is a rousing party for the folk harp!
The Bagatelles are a bit more mature, abstract and complex than my other pieces. Of course they still carry the ‘Harpology signature’: they were invented by the same head!
